Cars Ministry

Thank you for your interest in donating a vehicle to the Benevolence Ministry of Princeton Alliance Church. Below are some frequently asked questions.
How do I donate a vehicle?

Click the “Donate A Vehicle” button at the top of this page. Once you fill out the form and click, “Submit” you will receive an immediate follow-up email directing you to fill out an online Vehicle History Form. We’ll also be reaching out to answer any questions you may have and direct you toward your next step.

How is the ministry funded?

PAC’s Cars Ministry is funded through donations to PAC’s Local Ministry Fund. When donated vehicles are beyond repair, they are sold and the profits are invested in parts, supplies and repairs to vehicles that require a little added attention to become safe and road-ready. In rare instances, when the value of a donated vehicle is significant, that vehicle may be sold to generate dollars that will put several other vehicles back on the road and into the hands of families in need.

What does the church do with donated vehicles?

A team of volunteers cleans, evaluates and makes repairs to donated vehicles. Once the vehicle has passed a 100-point inspection and is road-ready, it is given to a pre-qualified family in need that lives within the greater Plainsboro community. Typically, these are struggling families with no form of personal transportation led by single moms. A donated vehicle helps makes it possible for the individual to maintain employment and better provide for the family. Your generosity makes a difference.

How do I deliver the vehicle?

Once approved, simply bring it to Princeton Alliance Church. Regretfully, we do not offer towing services.

  • When you enter the driveway to the church, turn to your right. Park the vehicle near the garage behind the church.
  • Leave any service records for the vehicle on the front seat.
  • Remove your license plates. Take them with you and return them to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Sign the “Seller Sign Here” line on the title. DO NOT date the title.
  • Bring the title and the keys to the church office.
Can I receive a tax deduction for my vehicle donation?

Please take a moment to read the IRS publication, A Donor’s Guide to Vehicle Donation. If a tax deduction is important to you, there may be things you need to do before releasing your vehicle. For example, depending on the value of your vehicle, you may need to have an independent appraisal of your vehicle before donating it to the church. That information will help you determine your potential eligibility for a tax deduction on your donation. Updates to IRS guidelines can be found at www.irs.gov.

In accordance with IRS regulations, PAC will provide you with a letter that acknowledges your donation and includes required details. Non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations such as PAC are not permitted to place a value on the letter of donation. The IRS donor’s guide will provide you with the information you need to be aware of in determining vehicle’s fair market value.
