Welcome!

Nov 30, 2007

My name is Boyd and I am the senior pastor here. This blog will let you know what has been on my mind lately.

If you arrived here by way of my weekly email, In The Loop, yes — this blog will be replacing the In The Loop’s mailings. This way you don’t have to wait for me to approach you by email each Friday. You can still receive email notification when I post updates, but now you can also click in to see my latest posting — at any time, on any day.

You may have noticed the tagline: hyp-ακούο. If you are thinking that you heard this word recently, you’re right: I used it in a weekend message about our need to connect with God. In Greek, the language of the New Testament, ακούο is the word that means “to hear.” The word hyp-ακούο take this ever further; it means to “hyper-hear” or “to obey.” Anyone who really listens to God doesn’t just ακούο the words, but hyp-ακούο’s them. They hear and obey. They listen and do.

This is what I try to do in my relationship with God. I hope it is what you do as well. I want this blog to inspire you to walk closely with Jesus, to have a good dose of ακούο when he speaks, and some intentional hyp-ακούο as you experience the good times and the struggles that accompany a walk of faith.

I will be writing here at least once each week, sometimes more. If you have questions about anything you read, please ask me about them. I look forward to hearing back from you!
